Arrests

On Monday, Douglas Allen Wiese, address unknown, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Monday, Nathaneal Shane Ramos, 405 Debra Dr., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I Controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday, William L. Thompson, 1703 Edgebrook Dr. Apt. A2, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On Saturday, Marcel Edmund Oden, 1004 W. Church St., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Saturday, Oscar Yepez, 709 NewCastle Rd., was arrested for driving while barred and driving under suspension.

On Friday, Roxann Denise Romig, 114 N. Center St. Apt. #2, was arrested for violation of no-contact order.

On Thursday, Francisco Javier Varela, 1607 W. Lincoln Way, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

On March 10, Mario Fernando Castellanos, 604 W. Boone St., was arrested for violation of no-contact order and theft, second degree.

On March 10, Rachel Berrones, 604 W. Boone St., was arrested for theft, second degree.

Accidents

On Sunday, a pickup driven by Timothy Steven Hemann, 2727 Pickering Dr., was exiting the K-Mart parking lot to turn south onto South Center Street when it pulled out in front of a car driven by Brenda Alison Hammond, 1309 E. Boone St., and they collided. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hemann pickup was estimated at $500 while the Hammond car received an estimated $2,200 in damage.

On Sunday, a minivan driven by Taylor Jean Vaske, 1326 Greenfield Dr., was at the intersection of Lafrentz Street and South Center Street and pulled out onto South Center Street to turn south and collided with a vehicle driven by Karen Sue McDowell, of Rhodes, which was traveling north on South Center and had her blinker on to turn right at the next corner. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Vaske minivan was estimated at $2,000 while the McDowell vehicle received an estimated $2,400 in damage.

On Saturday, a pickup driven by Jacob William Weitzell, of Le Grand, was westbound on Iowa Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Weitzell pickup was estimated at $10,000.

On Friday, a car driven by Krista Ray Flowers, 304 S. 2nd Ave. Apt. D, was eastbound on Nevada Street when, due to a mechanical malfunction of rear tires and brakes, it veered left over the curb, onto the embankment and came to a stop after striking storage units 35 and 36. Flowers was possible injured, but not transported. Flowers was cited for failure to use safety belt. Damage to the Flowers car was estimated at $1,000 while the storage units received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Citations

On Friday, Stanley Bryon Rash, 2555 Oaks Ave., was cited for disorderly conduct.

On Friday, Troy Nathan Tinius, 1104 Kester Rd., was cited for disorderly conduct.

Incidents

On Monday, Kisha Christine Kutzner, 114 N. Center St. Apt. #1, reported the theft of a diamond ring and band during an assault. Estimated value of loss was $4,800.

Tuesday

Levi Baggerly, 407 W. Main St. Apt. #202, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning April 19 until the debt is completed.

Jeremy Aaron Gallentine, of Conrad, made an initial appearance on a seatbelt violation charge and a speeding charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 24.

Juan Ibarra-Campos, 605 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated charge, a failure to maintain control charge and a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond will continue as posted. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Asam Tiea Shawish Wienis, 114 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195 due immediately.

Oscar Yepez, 511 Roberts Terrace, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a driving under suspension charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond will continue as posted.

Nicholas White, 511 1/2 N. 1st St., made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. White was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Nicholas Felice, of Pleasant Hill, made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a speeding charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 24.

Troy Nathan Tinius, 1104 Kester Rd., made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately.

Danny Atwood, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a parole revocation/failure to appear charge. The Parole Revocation Hearing will be rescheduled by the Department of Correctional Services as their calendar permits. Atwood was held without bond.

Doug Wiese, 211 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Wiese was released on his own recognizance.

Dale Robert Baker Sr., 1301 S. 2nd Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge, a no insurance charge and a operation without registration charge. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge the charge was reduced to expired license charge, he pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50 due immediately. The no insurance charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 due immediately. On the operation without registration charge he pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50 due immediately.

Ryan Wade Purdy, 2328A Zeller Ave., made an initial appearance on two driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. On the first charge it was amended to expired license charge and he pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50 due immediately. The bond was used to pay the fine, surcharge and court costs. The second driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 due immediately.

Jonathan Robert Junior, 111 W. Grant St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. The charge was reduced to an expired license charge to which he pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50 due immediately.

Rock Ray Riedi, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #401, made an initial appearance on a harassment charge. The case was dismissed with court costs of $60 due immediately.

Felicia Bernstine, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred/habitual offender charge. She pleaded down to an expired driver's license charge, pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $100 in court costs for a total of $167.50 due immediately plus attorney's fees.
