This month the American Cancer Society sponsored its annual Daffodil Days - a program that brings hope to people and their loved ones who are facing cancer.
Orders for daffodils were taken and given to friends, family members and cancer patients. This year would not have been possible without the generous support of Mitchell Family Funeral Home who again sponsored the event.
A big thank you to Lowe's Flowers for providing the floral tissue, Designz By Dawn for providing the greenery for the vases, Preceptor Alpha Epsilon Sorority for wrapping and bagging the 500 bunches of daffodils, Church of Christ for the use of their facilities and St. Mary rectory for serving as an order/pickup site.
I also want to thank all the on-site coordinators for their time promoting this event and accepting orders.
Because of this community effort area families fighting cancer will have hope for a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
