Incidents

On Sunday, an employee with Game Stop, 50n La Frentz Lane, reported the theft of a Sony memory card. Estimated value of loss was $100.

On Sunday, Vicky Bangs, Plymouth, Minn., reported scratch damage along the driver's side on a 2006 Ford Taurus while parked at 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #201. Estimated value of damage was $300.

On Saturday, Tony Allen Kloppenborg, 7 N. 3rd St., reported the theft of cash and a hair crimper from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,400.

On Saturday, an employee with Joe's Italian Grill, 1010 W. Lincoln Way, reported the theft of two Direct TV receivers, a Pyle camera system, an HP tower computer and a DVD player. Estimated value of loss was $1,187.

On Friday, a person reported for the State of Iowa BB gunshot damage to the right front window on a 2007 Dodge Magnum while parked at 206 W. State St. Estimated value of damage was $200.

On Thursday, Patrick John Lewis, 1505 S. 5th St., reported for himself and for V & V Storage, 802 Washington St., damage to multiple storage units and the theft of a Denon home theater receiver. Estimated value of loss was $300.

On Thursday, Britnee Anne Konicek, 1703 Edgebrook Dr. Apt. A4, reported the theft of a JVC car stereo from a 2000 Chrylser Cirrus while parked at her residence. Estimated value of loss was $280.

Citations

On Sunday, Salvador Gutierrez-Arreola, 206 N. 4th Ave., was cited for operating while intoxicated.

On Saturday, Deng Wal Puoch, 114 N. 12th Ave., was cited for driving while barred.

On Friday, Alejandro Garcia-Jimenez, 1105 Jackson St., was cited for operating while intoxicated.

On Friday, Jill Marie Weitzell, 409 N. 7th Ave., was cited for driving while barred.

On March 27, Joseph Gene Kinney, 606 Lincolnway, was cited for serious assault.

Arrests

On Sunday, Roxana Rico, 604 Bromley St., was arrested for curfew violation.

On Saturday, Brice Wade Stevenson, 107 W. Grant St. Apt. #2, was arrested for theft.

On Friday, Michael Edward Hoover, 1704 W. State St., was arrested for simple domestic assault.

On Friday, Tut Chuol Moang, 304 N. 3rd Ave. (Upper), was arrested for public intoxication, second offense.

On Thursday, William Louis Thompson, 1703 Edgebrook Dr. Apt. A2, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On Thursday, Brandon Terrell Williams, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested for theft, fifth degree.

On Thursday, Laqwan Charles Johnson, of Chicago, Ill., was arrested for theft, fifth degree.

Accidents

On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Maurice Lamot Turner, 401 1/2 Park St., was southbound in the 400 block of North Fifth Street when it struck a tree head-on and came to rest on the driver's side. Turner was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Turner was cited for driving while license is suspended and reckless driving. Damage to the Turner vehicle was estimated at $6,000.

On Friday, a car driven by Larry Bown, 514 S. 4th St., was westbound on Lincoln Way when it collided with the rear of a maintenance truck which was stopped doing maintenance work on a fire hydrant. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bown car was estimated at $6,000 while the maintenance truck received an estimated $500 in damage.

Marshall County Courthouse

Monday

Mabil Reui, 114 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge and a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On both charges he was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on each and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 on each due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 1 until the debts are completed or in lieu of the fines and surcharges he may complete 12 hours of community service for each charge plus pay court costs to be completed by Aug. 2. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Thomas Moore, 102 N. 20th St., made an initial appearance on a unlawful passing of a school bus charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on May 1.

Rhonda Renee Lovan, 308 N. 11th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle her case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 20. Lovan was released on her own recognizance.

Roxana Rico, 609 Bromley St., made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for 12 hours of community service in lieu of the fine and the surcharge plus pay court costs to be completed by May 15. The court further ordered that Rico obtain a copy of the curfew ordinance today.

Dustin Buffington, 412 W. Madison St., made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. The charge was dismissed upon showing proof and the court costs were waived.

Puoch Wal Deng, 114 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a driving under suspension charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 20. Deng was released on his own recognizance.

Alejandro Garcia-Jimenez, 1105 Jackson St., made an initial appearance through counsel, Randy Giannetto, on a operating while intoxicated charge. The Preliminary Hearing was waived. The court ordered that Garcia-Jimenez obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Sunday

Brice Stevenson, 107 W. Grant St., made an initial appearance on a theft, fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, court costs of $87 and restitution of $91.40 for a total of $438.40 due immediately.

Marylynn Laschober, 311 1/2 S. 3rd St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a pre-trial violation. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Audelio Velasquez-Mendez, 116 N. Center St., made an initial appearance on a fishing license violation charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $30 with a $10.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $100.50 due immediately.

Saturday

Armando Garcia Chavarria, 203 Sharon Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked/failure to appear for arraignment charge. The Scheduling Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Matthew Scott Hazelwood, of Eldora, made an initial appearance on a absence form custody charge and a theft, second degree charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Ricky Dale Mayfield Jr., 403 W. State St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The court appointed Jeff Hazen to represent him in this matter. A Scheduling Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
