GILBERT - West Marshall claimed the Class B team title at Gilbert's Bengal Relays in girls' track and field action on Monday.
Victoria Pothast and McKenzie Shipley both were four-time champions on the night, while KeAnn Kelber and Alexis Leonard had a hand in three golds for the Trojans.
West Marshall had a team total of 141 points, while Madrid was second (115) and South Hamilton third (92).
Pothast accounted for two of the Trojans' four individual firsts as she won the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 3.25 seconds and won the 800 in 2:35.20. Kelber was first in the 100 (13.38), while Shipley won the long jump with a mark of 17 feet.
Three relay events were won by West Marshall - the 4x200 (Leonard, Hailee Halverson, Kelber and Shipley, 1:51.82), 4x400 (Leonard, Samie Simatovich, Shipley and Pothast, 4:30.61) and sprint medley (Kelber, Leonard, Shipley and Pothast, 1:58.50).
Placing second individually for the Trojans were Leonard in the 200 (27.97), Jamie Harrings in the 400 hurdles (1:15.30), Jennifer Davis in the shot put (36-3) and Kaitlyn Nichols in the discus (101-8).
West Marshall travels to CMB's Lady Raider Invitational on Thursday.
South Hardin was fourth in the Class B team standings with 89 points.
Sarah Boomgarden took first in the high jump
(5 feet), first in 200 (26.78) and second in the 400 (1:05.21) for the Tigers, while Claire Damon was the 3,000 champion (12:21.53). Kayla Prosser's 15-3 mark in the long jump placed second.
GMG was sixth in the team race with 65 points.
The Wolverines were led by Emily Havelka sweeping the hurdle events. Havelka won the 100 in 16.76 and the 400 in 1:11.30. GMG's shuttle hurdle relay captured first place in 1:15.34 behind Heather Brittenham, Mikaella Koster, Sara Hinson and Havelka.
The Wolverines' Caitlin Appelgate was the runner-up in the high jump (4-10), while Koster was third in the 400 hurdles (1:15.44). GMG's sprint medley claimed third with the group of Melody Beane, Megan Slingluff, Appelgate and Ella Gruen in 2:11.46.
Colo-NESCO placed seventh with 55 team points. Royal freshman Shayla Dean finished second in both the 800 (2:39.16) and 1,500 (5:47.22).
The Class A team championship went to host Gilbert.
East Marshall's top finish was a first-place showing by Paige Miller in the 1,500 (5:20.61).
Abby Nuese was second in the 100 hurdles (16.71).
The Mustangs' top relay was the 4x800 group of Madisen Hinegardner, Ashley Allen, Miller and Meriel Leavy placing second in 10:57.79.
