IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa football team will wear 1921-22 throwback uniforms against Iowa State on Sept. 8 at Kinnick Stadium.
The Hawkeyes were an undefeated 7-0 both seasons (1921 and '22) under head coach Howard Jones.
The throwbacks will be the style of an old gold colored helmet, while the jerseys will be black body, old gold semicircle under arms, white numbers front and back with no player name. The pants will be old gold, matching the helmets.
Iowa last wore throwback uniforms in 2010 against Ball State, honoring the 1958 team.
