CENTERVILLE - The Marshalltown Community College baseball team dropped a pair of one-run games Saturday to Indian Hills.
The Falcons downed MCC 4-3 in the opener and then outlasted the Tigers 10-9 in nine innings in the nightcap.
MCC led 2-1 after three innings in game one, but Indian Hills put a pair across in the fourth to take the lead before the Tigers struck back with one in the fifth.
The Falcons took the lead for good for good when Yuliecer Arias reached on an error and came around to score on a fielder's choice ground out in the sixth.
Ben Lott had two hits and two runs scored from his leadoff spot in game one.
The Tigers (16-19, 9-9 ICCAC D-I) used a six-run fourth inning in the finale to go up 7-1 on Indian Hills (24-20, 12-10) after the frame and went into the bottom of the seventh up 9-5, but the Falcons got a three-run homer from Raul Centeno and a run-scoring single from Zach Sims to extend the day.
Sims then delivered the game-winning single to score Francis Marcelo in the ninth.
Lott, Bryce Manning, Jordan McCoy and Kyle Simpson all had two hits in the nightcap. McCoy and Anderson Villarroel both had two RBIs.
Max Chadsey (1-1) took the game two loss for MCC after Ben Ryder went a full six innings in a game one loss.
