If schoolwork is involved, it's a given that Kegan Jass is willing to put in the extra effort to succeed.

The Lenihan Intermediate School sixth grader is known for his self motivation and strong work ethic.

"He goes above and beyond of what is asked of him," said his teacher Kylee Vopava. "He knows what he needs to do to do well in the class."

Kegan Jass, a sixth grader at Lenihan Intermediate School, sits at his desk last week. The student is known for his hard work and self motivation.

Jass said his favorite subject in school is math, because it is challenging.

It's apparent he never shies away from hard work. He said doing well in school is important "so you can succeed and get a good job."

Vopava said his work ethic can be contagious in her class.

"He sets a good example for the rest of the class," Vopava said.
