Clemons man brandishes gun

Police arrested a Clemons man early Sunday morning for brandishing a gun at a group of passersby.

Justin Lovig, 23, allegedly pulled a handgun and aimed it at a 25-year-old woman after he bumped into her and another man in the alley behind Center Street Station, 19 N. Center St., said Capt. Brian Batterson of the Marshalltown Police Department.

Witnesses said after Lovig bumped into the duo they turned to address the issue. That's when Lovig pulled a handgun and directed others to pay no mind to the situation.

One of the four witnesses ran to call the police while the others pinned Lovig against a nearby car until police arrived, Batterson said.
