A pair of men armed with a handgun robbed the Check Into Cash store in the strip mall near Walmart on Friday morning.

At about 10:33 a.m. the men entered the business, 50 E. Lafrentz Drive, and demanded money from one of the employees.

The Marshalltown Police Department was called to the robbery in progress, however, the men escaped immediately after taking an undisclosed amount of money, said Capt. Mike Hanken.

Once the MPD established the suspects had fled, normal business operations were allowed to continue in the strip mall. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Detectives and crime scene personnel are continuing their investigation. There were no suspects at press time.
