MMSC provider receives doctorate
A member of the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center organization, JoAnn C. Drake, PT, graduated from A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Ariz., on March 3. Drake received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and was one of 181 graduates from the Arizona School of Health Sciences at its annual March commencement.
Drake attended the Mayo School of Health Sciences Program in Physical Therapy obtaining a Physical Therapy Certificate in 1986, before enrolling at Arizona School of Health Sciences doctoral program in Physical Therapy.

She is married to Rob Drake, who teaches in the East Marshall School District. They have three children Nicholas, Stephanie and Ashley, and five grandchildren Caden, Noah, Levi, Olivia and Silas.
Drake is currently working as the director of Rehabilitation Services for Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown. She plans to continue to oversee the Rehab Services Department and to provide quality patient care to her patients.
The Doctorate in Physical Therapy is now the standard degree afforded graduating therapists.

Michl to lead Iowa office
Regional executive outsourcing firm, CFO Systems, announced its latest expansion office. The new office, located in Des Moines serves the entire state of Iowa. Long-time Chief Financial Officer Lynn Michl will head the Iowa operation.
The new Iowa office is the latest success in a targeted expansion effort on the part of CFO Systems, driven primarily by its national licensing program launched in August 2011. This is the third regional CFO Systems office opened in the last few months. The Company intends to open three to five additional offices within the next year to expand their premier CFO outsourcing services to middle-market organizations across the country.
"We are excited to have Lynn leading our new Iowa operation. He brings more than 25 years of senior financial leadership experience and his background in turnarounds and crisis management will be a significant addition to our team," said Brett Frevert, Managing Director of CFO Systems.
Michl has spent the majority of his career in the Midwest, serving as CFO and on the Board of Directors of a number of manufacturing, service and software companies. He also has interim senior management experience in property development, construction and hospitality enterprises.
Michl has led several companies through successful reorganizations, both inside and outside of Chapter 11. In addition, Lynn has led change management efforts for multiple companies resulting in significant profitable growth.
