Wednesday

Tim Jarrell, 405 E. Boone St. Apt. #5, made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 10 a.m. on June 18. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Kevin Eugene Strickler, 306 Bromley St. Apt. #12, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. The court appointed Randy Giannetto to represent him in this case. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5. Strickler was released on his own recognizance.

Marisa Easton, of St. Anthony, made an initial appearance on two counts of a theft, fifth degree charge. The court appointed Merrill Swartz to represent her in this case. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5. Easton was released on her own recognizance.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Bradley Sparrow, 211 W. Nevada St., was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a car driven by Alyssa Jane Kozak, 210 Pine St., was eastbound on West Olive Street approaching the intersection with Olive Street when the lights were flashing red one direction and yellow the other and it went into the intersection and collided with a pickup driven by Jose Rodriguez-Lara, 212 Pleasantview Rd., which had the flashing yellow light and was in the intersection. No injuries were reported. Kozak was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Kozak car was estimated at $2,000 while the Rodriguez-Lara pickup received an estimated $100 in damage.

On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Donna Jean Warnell, 2608 Reycliff Dr., was eastbound on West Lincoln Way when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Amber Nicole Weatherly, 303 N. 5th St. Apt. #1, which had stopped to make a left turn. No injuries were reported. Warnell was cited for failure to stop within a assured, clear distance. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

April 26

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1110 Fremont St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1 W. Grant St., 1707 S. 7th Ave., 306 S. 9th St., and 1211 W. State St.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 105 W. Main St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 506 Jerome St., 206 Nicholas Dr., 1211 W. State St., 206 Nicholas Dr., and 202 N. 2nd Ave.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 134 E. Main St., a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 1211 W. State St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2400 Summit St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1412 W. Church St., 810 S. 3rd Ave., 2907 S. 6th St., 101 NewCastle Rd., 104 N. 6th St., 202 N. 2nd Ave.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medical assist with the EMS crew to 312 N. 1st St.
