Rob and Laura Thomas, of Grinnell, are the parents of a son, Micah Robert, born at home at 1:04 a.m. on April 28, weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. He joins brothers Jacob and Isaiah, and sisters Grace, Abigail, Esther, Naomi and Anna. Grandparents are Shirley and Steve Thomas, of Marshalltown, and Mary and Pete Lyon, of Toledo. Great-grandparents are Merle Frericks, of Gladbrook; Margaret Lyon, of Toledo, and Coleen and Rex Hoskey, of Toledo.

Kathleen and Eric Goslinga, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Daniel Albert Goslinga born April 23 at 1:36 a.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City, weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 17 inches long. Grandparents are Albert and Lola Maye Krug, of Newhall, and Jerry and Mary Brink, of Princeton. Great-grandmother is Theresa Goslinga, of Orange City.

Grandparents are Brian Dorothy, of Waterloo, Linda Johnson and Lyndon Johnson, of Alberta, Minn., Keith and Carol Niedermann, of Marshalltown.

Tom and Melanie Gazaway, of Blackwood, N.J., are parents of a son, Micah Tyson Gazaway, born April 22. Micah joins big brothers Aiden, 6, and Zander, 1, at home. Grandparents are Jerry and Barb Gazaway, of Marshalltown, and LeRoy and Sylvia Bell, of Somerdale, N.J. Great-grandmother is Carol Jontz, of Marshalltown.

Friday

Tyler Rundall, 205 N. 13th St. (Upstairs), made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 23. Rundall was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Traci Malloy, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle her case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 23. Malloy was released on her own recognizance.

Dagoberto Estrada-Martinez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning June 1 until the debt is completed or in lieu of the fine and surcharge Estrada-Martinez may do 12 hours of community service plus pay court costs to be completed by Sept. 15.

Ler Lah Kbau, 311 N. 4th Ave. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due within 30 days.

Salud Avalos, 601 E. Linn St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5. Avalos was released on his own recognizance.

Christopher Wyatt, of Union, made an initial appearance on a no medical certificate on driver's possession charge, an unsecured dunnage chain, binder, hooks charge, an operating a commercial motor vehicle without periodic inspection charge and a Class CDL needs a Class D charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5. Wyatt was released on his own recognizance.

Larena Virginia Losh, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a failure to have a valid driver's license or permit charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330 due immediately.

Linda Harding, 605 N. Center St., made an initial appearance on two counts of a compulsory education charge. The court appointed Laura Sopher to represent her in this matter. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5.

Reginald James Gradwell, 2531 Jessup Ave., made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 5.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 3402 S. Center St., a public service assistance at 1013 S. 10th Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 3 N. 9th St., and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 112 W. Grant St., 608 E. Olive St., 101 NewCastle Rd., 1702 S. 12th Ave., 30 W. Main St., 105 N. Center St., 202 N. 16th St., 1224 Marshall Dr., 3202 S. 12th St., and South Ninth Avenue.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 902 W. Lincoln Way, a good intent call to 601 E. Nevada St., a fire at 407 May St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 707 E. Boone St., 1 W. Grant St., 707 E. Boone St., 212 Ingledue St., and 1301 Summit St.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1211 W. State St., 602 E. Linn St., 3109 S. 14th St., and 407 W. Church St.

Incidents

On Thursday, Cathy Aceved, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #142, reported the theft of a diamond and gold bracelet, a heart necklace, diamond stud earrings, a safe containing documents, a gold watch and a spare car key from 1407 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #105. Estimated value of loss was $800.

Citations

On Thursday, a male juvenile from Marshalltown was cited for disorderly conduct at Marshalltown High School.

On Wednesday, Anthony Allan Vodochodsky, 911 Jackson St., was cited for rabies vaccination violation and dog at large.

Arrests

On Thursday, Dagoberto Estrada-Martinez, address unknown, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Thursday, May 3, Tyler John Rundall, 205 N. 13th St. (Upstairs), was arrested for serious domestic assault.

Accidents

On Thursday, a pickup driven by Joseph Michael Baker, 12 W. Meadow Lane, was crossing South Third Avenue on a green light when a bicycle riden by Jason David Williams, 405 W. Church St. Apt. #5, which was northbound on the sidewalk did not stop for traffic and collided with the Baker pickup. Williams was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Damage to the Baker pickup was estimated at $1,500.

On Wednesday, a minivan driven by Jean Marie Haney, of Waterloo, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it reacted to a vehicle beside it pulling hard toward the Haney minivan and it struck the guard rail belonging to the Iowa Department of Transportation. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Haney minivan was estimated at $4,000 while the IDOT guard rail received an estimated $100 in damage.
