The Marshall County Sheriff's Office arrested a local man who allegedly fractured another man's skull during an incident in March.
At about 11:30 p.m. March 24, harsh words at Vaughn's Pub ended with Brandon Mitchell, 29 of Marshalltown, allegedly slamming another 21-year-old Marshalltown man to the ground resulting in the head injury.
Medical technicians rushed the victim to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center and subsequently transported him to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where he spend five days, said Capt. Mike Hanken of the Marshalltown Police Department.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Mitchell Saturday during a warrant check at his home on the 3000 block of Garwin Road.
Police released reports of the incident Monday. Police had been interviewing witnesses and trying to get details from the victim since the attack, Hanken said.
Mitchell is charged with willful injury, a Class C felony which, if convicted, is punishable up to 10 years in jail.
The sheriff's office released Mitchell on $10,000 bond Monday. Mitchell's preliminary hearing is set for May 16.
