A new pharmacy opened this week again making a trip to the doctor a one-stop shop for many patients.
NuCara Pharmacy opened at the McFarland Southside Clinic at the former pharmacy site run by Hy-Vee.
"When people come and see their doctor on the way out the door they can get their prescription filled," said Diane Miller, pharmacist at the new shop. "Most prescriptions that come out of the doctor's office we can fill."

Aside from pharmacy goods, the shop also offers medical equipment and a selection of over-the-counter medicine.
NuCara, which is based in Conrad, owns and operates 10 other retail pharmacy locations in Iowa, four in Minnesota, one in Illinois and one in Texas. The company has plans to open a second location inside the main McFarland Clinic in Marshalltown later this summer.
The new pharmacy opened after a remodeling, which now has its entrance accessible from the waiting area at the clinic.
Miller worked for NuCara for several years before spending the last two years as a staff pharmacist at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.
