The Tama County Sheriff's Office arrested another volunteer firefighter in connection with two fires allegedly set by the Tama County Fire Chief's son.
Deputies charged Joshua Weiermann, 18, of Chelsea, with aiding and abetting second-degree arson and accessory after the fact to third-degree arson Thursday.
The charges are related to charges filed against Justin Anderson, 18, another volunteer firefighter and son of Tama County Fire Chief Rod Anderson.
Anderson faces seven counts of arson.
The charges against Weiermann, a Chelsea volunteer firefighter, are in connection with a May 13 fire at a vacant house and barn on G Avenue in Tama and a March 18 rural grass fire near Duffas Landing, both of which Anderson is accused of setting.
Another fire, deemed to be arson by Toledo Fire Department, on Tama County Road D43 destroyed a vacant building April 29. Tama County Sheriff's Office has made no arrests in connection with that fire.
Police released Anderson Thursday morning after his $10,000 cash bond was posted.
Weiermann's bond is set at $20,000.
