A Marshalltown High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave by the school district amid an investigation.
Brian Bown, a special education teacher and policy debate coach at MHS, was put on leave and is the subject of an investigation into some allegations, said Lisa Koester, director of human resources with the school district.
Koester did not want to go into details about the allegations and said a substitute teacher has taken Bown's place at MHS.

Capt. Mike Hanken of the Marshalltown Police Department, confirmed that the school resource officer and another investigator responded to the school and escorted a teacher from the building on May 10. A joint investigation with the school district remains ongoing, he said, and more information will be forthcoming next week.
Bown, who has resigned his job effective at the end of the school year, has been employed at MHS since Aug. 16, 2011.
