Barrett and Brandy McOmber are the parents of a daughter, Mia Lynn, born on May 22 at 10:32 a.m. at Allen Hospital in Waterloo weighing 7 pounds, 11.8 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long. Mia joins siblings Maddy and Carter. Grandparents are Connie and Chuck Roberts and Janet Schoenfelder and Jerry Carter, all of Marshalltown.

Geremy and Denae Neisess, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Greyden Chris Neisess, born Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at 1:39 p.m. on May 24 weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length. Grandparents are: Dan and Denise Crookshank, of Le Grand, Greg Neisess, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Deb Neisess, of Marshalltown. Great grandparents are: Garol and Ruth Cooling, of Le Grand, Esther Miller, of Marshalltown, and Gilbert Neisess, of Laguna Vista, Texas. Great great grandparent is Ruth Meyer, of Marshalltown.

Tim and Kristianne Buck, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Evelynn May, born May 28 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center weighing 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length. Grandparents are: Lynn and Ruth Maxedon, of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Ken and Betsy Buck, of State Center.

Blake and Candice Callaway, of State Center, are the parents of a daughter, Emily Sue, born at 2:04 p.m. on May 15 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 20.75 inches in length. Grandparents are: Buck and Teri Ray and Lynn and Tracy Callaway. Great grandparents are: Joyce Foreman, Jim Ellis, Buster and Carol Ray, Larry and Shary Callaway, Leila Nelson and the late Robert Strauss.

Greg Paglia, 2513 Sand Rd., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge, pending disposition. The court appointed Steve Kloberdanz to represent in this matter before the court. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 10 a.m. on June 18 in District Court. Bond is set at $15,000 cash only.

Theresa Wolken, 107 N. 7th St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and a speeding charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately. The fine on the speeding charge was $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87 due immediately.

Andrea Hogan, c/o Marshall County Jail, made an initial appearance on a recommitment after posting bail charge. The court appointed Abigail Hillers, which had previously been appointed on another of Hogan's cases, to represent her in this matter before the court. The Trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 7 in District Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

Efren Rodriguez-Moreno, 1304 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a seat belt violation charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on June 26.

Jose Maravilla-Reynos, 710 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a dark windshield violation charge, a no insurance charge and a operation without registration charge. He pleaded guilty to the dark windows charge and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50 due immediately. The no insurance and operation without registration charges were dismissed with court costs of $60 each due immediately.

Ana Lucia Villa-Tellez, 11 N. 9th St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended/non-payment charge, a no insurance charge and a defective tires charge. She pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended/non-payment charge and the no insurance charge the fine was $250 on each with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each charge due immediately. The fine on the defective tires charge was $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87 due immediately.

Tyler Heatherington, 607 E. Olive St. Apt. #14, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 11 a.m. on July 6. Heatherington was released on his own recognizance.

Amber Grantz, of Melbourne, made an initial appearance on two counts of a child endangerment charge and a operating while intoxicated charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle her cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 20. Bond will continue as posted. Grantz was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Matthew Thompson, of Toledo, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 3:15 p.m. on June 27 and the public intoxication charge will be heard at that time. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Andrew Stengele, 501 S. 2nd St., made an initial appearance on a violation of Pre-Trial Release charge. Randy Giannetto was appointed to handle his case. The Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on Aug. 3 and the Trial for Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. on a carrying weapons and operating while intoxicated charge. The Pre-Trial Conference on a possession of a controlled substance charge is set for 1:50 p.m. on July 1 with the Trial set for 9 a.m. on July 7. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Jerri Lavender, 710 1/2 E. State St., made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident/damage only charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately.

Debra Kay Edwards, 7 E. North St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and a no insurance charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on both charges was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately.

On Tuesday, Kylie Nicole Price, 305 Rainbow Dr., reported the theft of Chevy Silverado from 1900 N. Center St. Rd. Estimated value of loss was $8,000.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Ruth Dorothy Turner, of Conrad, was arrested for two counts of prohibited acts.

On Monday, Renee Rochelle Opperud, of Alden, was arrested for parole violation.

On Monday, Brandon Thomas Gobble, of Ames, was arrested for failure to appear on a theft, third degree charge.

On Sunday, Richard Baldenegro Martinez, 602 E. Linn St., was arrested for contempt of court.

On May 26, Gerardo Angel Medina, 805 Bromley St., was arrested for contempt of court.

On May 26, Bryant Torres, of Rock Island, Ill., was arrested for interference with official acts, speeding and failure to have a valid driver's license or permit.

On Friday, May 25, Ryland David Powers, 705 W. Iowa Ave. #40, was arrested for driving under influence.

On May 25, Gatweck Rauch Biet, of Des Moines, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, third offense, driving while revoked, two counts of driving under suspension, open container, speeding, failure to have a valid driver's license and failure to prove security against liability.

On May 23, Anthony Chad Montano, of Rhodes, was arrested for serious domestic assault and a charge from another agency.

On May 23, Ellsworth Youngbear Jr., of Tama, was arrested for driving while barred, a failure to have a valid driver's license, two counts of driving under suspension, failure to prove security against liability, operation without registration and two counts of weapons violation.

On May 17, Kerry Lee Hauser, of Albion, was arrested for failure to appear.

Accidents

On Sunday, a minivan driven by Leander Hubert Harral, of Des Moines, was eastbound on Marshalltown Boulevard approaching the intersection with Marsh Avenue when in an attempt to turn left it collided with a car driven by Antonio Jesus Marquez, of Austin, Minn., which was westbound on Marshalltown Boulevard. Harral, Marquez and passenger Lilia Vargas-Carasco, of Mexico, Mexico were transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Harral was cited for failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to the Harral minivan was estimated at $3,000 while the Marquez car received an estimated $5,000.

On May 23, a vehicle driven by Virdiana Rodriquez, 310 S. 3rd St., was attempting to park in a spot at McDonald's, 3402 S. Center St., when it collided with the left side of a legally parked car. No injuries were reported. Rodriguez did not possess a driver's license and was uninsured. Damage to the legally parked car was estimated at $1,526.
