The search for a 10-year-old boy who went missing Monday evening is set to resume shortly.
According to the Marshalltown Police Department, a call came in to the communications center around 7:40 p.m. for a water rescue involving several children. First responders arrived shortly after at 7:45 p.m. and were told that one boy had gone under the water and was still missing. Crews scoured the river until the search was called off around 10 p.m.
Police Chief Mike Tupper said Tuesday morning that a search and rescue team should arrive on scene to assist local authorities by 8 a.m.
