Audrey Welp Dankbar, 88, of Minnetonka, MN and formerly of Ames, IA died peacefully on Saturday June 16, 2012.
Audrey was born in Haverhill, IA on November 25, 1923 to Edward and Teresa (Kopel) Welp and was the fourth of five children. She married Roman Dankbar, also of Haverhill, on June 23rd 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Haverhill. Audrey attended Van Cleve High School and upon graduation attended Business College in Ankeny, Iowa. She earned an associate degree in accounting from Prairie State College in Chicago.
Audrey is survived by her beloved husband of sixty five years, Roman Dankbar; three children, Elizabeth (Don) O'Rourke II, of Morrow, OH, William (Molly) Dankbar, of Bloomington, MN, and Diane (Richard) Schafer, of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren, Donald J. (Nicole) O'Rourke III, Christopher (Tammy) O'Rourke, Lisa O'Rourke, Edward (Jamie)Jamie) Dankbar, Andrew Dankbar, Kathleen Dankbar, Catherine Schafer, Teresa Schafer; four great grandchildren, Grant, Audrey, Allison, and Aaron O'Rourke.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Neuroth; and three brothers, Virgil, Cyril and Leon Welp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Audrey will be buried at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Haverhill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
