The parking lot was vacant and the doors locked Thursday at the Flooring Gallery store on Sixth Street in Marshalltown.
The store was one of 10 across central Iowa that have been closed this week.
News reports out of Des Moines indicated payroll checks have bounced for employees of the store, and one employee indicated 401K money taken out of their pay had not been deposited into the 401K account.

The Flooring Gallery store in Marshalltown is currently closed down. The future of the store, and nine others in central Iowa that have been closed, is uncertain.
Ken Anderson, president of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, said he has noticed less business activity at the local store in recent years. Anderson said he is unsure if the closing is permanent, but if it is it is sad.
"We're always disappointed to lose a business," Anderson said. "It always reminds us of how difficult it is to run a business and be successful."
A call made to Flooring Gallery Owner Dan Stalzer went unanswered Thursday.
