GREEN MOUNTAIN - South Tama emerged as the champion of GMG's four-team baseball tournament on Saturday.
The Trojans (11-9) defeated the host Wolverines 8-1 in the opening round and then turned away Colo-NESCO 14-4 in the championship game.
GMG, in the consolation final, defeated HLV 4-3.
South Tama's Chase Schuett pitched all six innings against GMG in the first round, allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Grant Koch finished 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Austin Vaughn, Brandon Lolwing, Wade Barritt, Chad Plaehn and losing pitcher Kyle Barloon each had a single for GMG.
STC compiled 15 hits in beating Colo-NESCO in the title game. Schuett was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Koch, Sam Kuhter, Dalton Doyle and Kaleb Davenport had two hits apiece. Koch drove in four runs while Doyle and Davenport scored three times apiece.

Nate Hala pitched three innings for the win, walking three and striking out three from the mound for South Tama.
Dayton Gilmore went 3-for-3 with a double to lead the Colo-NESCO bats. Adam Lytle had two hits. J.T. Adams took the loss for his 2 2/3 innings of relief work.
The Royals (8-8) dispatched HLV in their opening contest, 7-2. Lytle and Tyler Erickson both went 2-for-2 at the plate. Lytle and Taylor Hill both drove in a pair, while Adams went five innings for the win. He struck out five and walked none, allowing four hits.
GMG then finished off HLV in the third-place game, 4-3. Josh Raymond went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Lolwing's two-run double in the bottom of the fifth gave the Wolverines (4-16) the lead for good.
Tanner Krier drove in two runs on sacrifice flies, and Vaughn was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Luke Petty pitched all six innings for the win against HLV (0-19), allowing one earned run on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
