The Sixth Street Softball Complex will be the spot for a free film shown at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The Movie in the Park series starts with “Field of Dreams.”
Chad Weir, recreation superintendent with parks and recreation, said they got the idea from other towns that have shown movies in the park and he thinks this is the first time Marshalltown has done something like this.
"We were looking for an event to involve the community, and this one made sense," Weir said.
The concession stand will be open for purchasing of food and drink. Weir said visitors should not expect high definition or the latest in digital sound, but they can enjoy a unique, family-friendly night out.
