After more than nine years of flying below police radar, Marshalltown Police Department finally arrested a local woman wanted for forgery and identity theft.
Maria Guillermina Vasquez, 38, allegedly used a California woman's identity to fraudulently obtain employment and credit cards back in 2003, Capt. Mike Hanken, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said.
Police arrested Guillermina Vasquez Saturday and charged her with forgery and identity theft, Class D felonies.

Hanken said police in Bakersfeild, Calif. contacted MPD in 2003 claiming one of its residents reported an unknown person in Marshalltown using her information.
Guillermina Vasquez, who then worked at JBS, evaded police attempts to make further contact with her, he said.
Through the investigation, police were able to corroborate evidence that linked Guillermina Vasquez, who according to reports has at least four aliases, to the crime, Hanken said.
Police put a stop to her employment at the plant and severed her ties to the fraudulent credit cards.
