Michael Mull, 58, of Marshalltown formerly of Garwin passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Michael Dean Mull was born on November 9, 1953 in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Jack and Pearl "Polly" (Nielson) Mull, he attended school in the Marshalltown School District graduating with the class of 1972. On October 17, 1980 Mike was united in marriage to Peggy Bakke in Fountain, Minnesota, they had resided in Garwin, Iowa most of their married life. Mike had been employed at JBS for 39 years and had been a member of the local UFCW. Mike loved to fish and camp and to spend time with his sons in sprint car racing and watching NASCAR. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren as there was never anything he wouldn't do for them, or out of reach to do for them, taking them camping, and fishing, to Wisconsin Dells, Adventureland and local carnival events and Monster Jam events. He and Peggy enjoyed traveling to local and surrounding casinos and many trips to Las Vegas. He will be remembered for the smile on his face and a laugh for everyone. Mike was the heart and soul of the family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years Peggy, his children; Anthony (Stephanie) Becker of Marshalltown , Timothy (Julie) Mull of Marshalltown, and his grandchildren, Brenden Becker and Brody Becker, Breanna Wooldridge, and Avery Mull, Mike's parents; Jack and Polly Mull and his brothers; Rick (Deb) Mull and David (Sheryl) Mull and several nieces and nephews.
