REINBECK - With the Fourth of July holiday falling in the middle of the week this year, many celebratory festivals are choosing to split up events to have some fall on the weekend. Reinbeck's Fourth of July celebration is one of those festivals.

The events begin this Saturday in Reinbeck with a 5K run, football tournament and what is known as a "Back Alley Boogie" at Broad Street Brewery.

The boogie features bands, food and drink and begins at 5 p.m. Saturday in the alley behind the brewery in downtown Reinbeck. The brewery has been open for a full year now, and it has been a hit in Reinbeck.

Guests enjoy the festivities during last year’s Reinbeck Fourth of July parade. This year’s parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"It's kind of a neat feel for the small town," Lynn Trask, one of the organizers of the Fourth of July festivities, said.

The events pick back up Tuesday with the annual Fireman's Dance at the Memorial Building. Most of the events for the festival fall on the holiday, Wednesday, with many going on at Elmwood Park, including a car show from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and many games throughout the day.

The big parade will roll through town beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
