Frances Mercer-Fink, 52, of Marshalltown, died suddenly on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center Emergency Room. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the service time. Born Frances Mercer on Oct. 22, 1959, in Marshalltown, the youngest of seven children born to Frank and Betty (Porter) Mercer. She received her education in the West Marshall and Marshalltown Schools. Frances was employed with the Iowa Veterans Home since 1996 and was a member of the Union. She was united in marriage to Dave Fink and he preceded her in death. Currently, she made her home with her niece, Brandi (Steve) Bills and their family in Marshalltown.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Larry (Deb) Mercer, of Marshalltown, Steve (Marg) Mercer, of Ames, George (Judy) Mercer, of Vidor, Texas and sister-in-law Nancy Mercer, of Rhodes, 12 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews and one-great-great as well as her co-workers at IVH.
In death, she rejoined her parents, her husband Dave Fink, her brother John Wayne Mercer and sisters Jane Mercer and Donna Weeces.
