Local grocers receive Supermarket SMARTS certificates
Four friendly faces you see daily at Hometown Foods' boosted their supermarket IQs several points recently by completing the Supermarket SMARTS program. Josh Brubaker, of Traer; Randall Dreckman, of Baxter; Jack Halupnick, of Traer; and Joani Johnson, of Conrad, received certificates for their efforts.
Offered by the Iowa Grocery Industry Association and led by author and industry consultant Harold Lloyd, Supermarket SMARTS is an intensive three-day program filled with real life examples and practical ideas to improve profitability and performance in every area of retail sales. Supermarket SMARTS is designed with store managers, assistant managers and other professionals committed to a career in the grocery industry in mind.
The Supermarket S.M.A.R.T.S. program is sponsored by SHAZAM and covers personal leadership, customer relationships, team building, sales building, merchandizing and cost control, among other topics.

Wolf receives ACHCA Facility Leadership award
The American College of Health Care Administrators is proud to recognize Chris Wolf as a 2012 recipient of the ACHCA Facility Leadership Award.
The ACHCA firmly believes that facility excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence. Wolf is the Administrator of Grandview Heights Inc. in Marshalltown.
The Facility Leadership Award is made possible with the support of eHealthDataSolutions. It is based on three years of skilled nursing facility survey data. The areas of excellence the facility exhibits includes three years of performance on the health survey, fire (life safety) survey, complaint surveys and improvement in the last two quarters of the reported Quality Measures.
