LOUISVILLE - Jeff Clement belted his team-leading 10th home run of the season in helping the Indianapolis Indians defeat the Louisville Bats 10-3 in Saturday's International League baseball game.
Clement finished 2-for-5 with a two-run triple - his second of the season - and a solo homer for the Pittsburgh Pirates' Triple-A affiliate. He scored twice.
The top five hitters in the Indians' batting order finished 13-for-23 with four extra-base hits.
"As the weather has heated up, we have started to heat up offensively," Clement told Brian Bosma of IndyIndians.com. "One-through-nine there are no breaks for their pitchers and we have a lot of confidence going up to the plate."
Clement's batting average steadied at .297 after Saturday's two-hit game. He's batting .333 over his last 10 games.
