Doug Clawson, 52, of Marshalltown, passed away, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 3, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am.until service time on Tuesday. Douglas L. Clawson was born on December 2, 1959 in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Bob and Deloris (Mitchell) Clawson. Doug was educated in the area of his birth. On June 12, 1979 Doug was united in marriage to Cathy Phillips in Marshalltown at the Nazarene Church. Doug had hauled grain for Nelson Grain and then he had been an Owner / Operator truck driver and for the last 10 years he had been employed with Ruan Trucking. He enjoyed his membership with the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. Doug and his brother Paul had an ongoing debate about the importance of the Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes. Doug loved to camp, boat, motorcycle and be with family, but especially loved and adored his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Cathy, his sons; Chad (Jill) Clawson, Matt (Emily) Clawson and Adam Clawson all of Marshalltown , his grandchildren; Taylor Lynn, Emma Grace, and Bailey Madison, and soon to be Stormmie Lee, Doug's parents, Bob and Deloris Clawson of State Center, his siblings; David Clawson of Indiana, Paul (Tess) Clawson of Rhoads, Mary Guiterrez of Dalton, Texas, Hope (Julio) Molina of Deer Park, Texas and Susan Fahlbush of Deer Park, Texas and special nephew Vincent and many other nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Dare.
