Dr. Lisa Anne Ross Hayden, 51, of Yerington (Lyon County), Nev., died unexpectedly Monday, June 25, 2012, at the South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington, Nev. The cause of death is pending. A memorial service was be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Copper Hills Bible Church, in Yerington, Nev., with Pastor Gregg Davies officiating. An Iowa memorial service is being planned at a later time.
Lisa was born Dec. 5, 1960, in Marshalltown to Gerald C. and Thelma E. (Rhodes) Ross. She was a 1979 graduate of Marshalltown High School. Lisa attended Marshalltown Community College, the University of Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State University Veterinary College in 1986. She began practicing in Reno, Nev., the same year. In February 1992, she purchased the Yerington Animal Hospital and provided loving care to pets and their owners in the Yerington and Hawthorne areas until her death.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Leland (Skip) Hayden, of Yerington, Nev.; step-children, whom she loved and was so proud of: Daniel and Joseph Hayden, and Kellcey and Tearance Brannan; her mother, Thelma, of Yerington, Nev.; a sister, Jane (Mike) Neff, of Osage Beach, Mo., two brothers, David (Joan) Ross, of Waukee, and Jeffrey (Deb Samson) Ross, of Cambridge; four nieces, two nephews, six grandnieces, and four grandnephews.
