A Dyersville man was killed in a single-vehicle semi crash around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning just west of Marshalltown.
James Esch, 76, was heading southbound on Highway 330 out of Marshalltown when he lost control of the semi he was driving and went off the roadway.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Esch overcorrected when attempting to bring the semi back on the roadway which caused the tractor to overturn completely and land on its driver's side. Esch was wearing a seatbelt.
The semi was hauling milk and belonged to Ra-Ly Transport out of Earlville, Iowa.
The Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Marshalltown Area Paramedic Service and Marshalltown Police Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol with the accident.
