Lin Khung, 808 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on driving while suspended, improper rear lamp and insufficient number of headlamps charges. He pleaded guilty on all charges. The fine for driving while suspended was $250 with $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine for improper rear lamp was $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87. The fine for insufficient number of headlamps was $30 with a $10.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $100.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is completed.

Candice Fisher, 509 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a ongoing criminal conduct charge and a theft, third degree charge.The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 20. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Ryan Papakee, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is completed.

Roger Lenox, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a harassment, third degree charge and a trespassing charge. The court appointed Laura Sopher to represent him in this case. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Aug. 14. Lenox was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Anjelia Pefferman, 2510 S. 6th St. Apt. E155, made an initial appearance on an ongoing criminal conduct charge, a money laundering charge and a theft, second degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle all cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 30. Bond will remain as posted.

Jimmy Baugh, 508 W. Nevada St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on both charges was $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each charge, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is completed.

Wayne Prusha, of Montour, made an initial appearance on a failure to maintain a clear and assured distance charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately.

Trisha Mundt, 1001 Iowa Ave. W, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately.

Arrests

On Monday, Jason Cory, age 32, of Grundy Center, was arrested by Parkersburg police on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On Saturday, July 7, Calvin Sturm, age 21, of Rockwell, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On July 3, Daniel Heggebo, age 41, of Beaman, was arrested in Beaman and charged with domestic abuse assault. He posted bail and was released.

On July 2, Jonathan Edwards, age 33, of West Port, Mass., was arrested on 160th Street west of Highway 14 and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense. He posted bond and was released.

On July 1, Scott Heggebo, age 30, was arrested in Beaman, for domestic abuse assault. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On June 26, Jennifer Dittmer, age 43, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense. She was released on promise to appear.

Accidents

On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Alexander Mackay, age 24, of Cedar Falls, was traveling west on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mackay vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

On Friday, a vehicle driven by Colton Puls, age 19, of Gladbrook, was southbound on West Street at the intersection with Randall Street when it failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with a car driven by Elva Peters, age 80, of Reinbeck, which was traveling west on Randall Street. No injuries were reported. Puls was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. Damage to the Puls vehicle was estimated at $ 500 while the Peters car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

On July 3, a vehicle driven by Jimenez Velasco, age 27, of Waterloo, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Velasco vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Donita Jo Clapsaddle, 54, 908 S. Ninth Ave. was arrested for possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.

Citations

On Tuesday, Ryan Jason Papakee, 39, 316 N. 14th Ave., Cedar Rapids was arrested for public intoxication, a simply misdemeanor.
