More than 5,000 men, 47 from Marshalltown, turned out at the Promise Keeper event at the McLeod Center this weekend. Promise Keepers started in 1992 in Boulder, Colo. and was spearheaded by then-University of Colorado Football Coach Bill McCarty. The organization helps men become better husbands, fathers and Christians.
