The Marshalltown Police Department arrested a man wanted on warrants at 11:44 a.m. this morning at The General Store, 116 E. Church St.
Brandon Godfrey, 22, of Marshalltown, was wanted on warrants stemming from a July 3 incident in which he fled from a police officer during a theft investigation. He is charged with assault on a police officer, interference with official acts, fifth-degree theft and driving under suspension.
When plain clothes police officers identified and approached Godfrey near the store this morning, he fled inside. He was quickly taken into custody, according to police, and faces another interference with official acts charge. Read more about this story in Thursday's T-R.
