HILL CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA - Jim Strauss, 42, formerly of Eldora, died at home in Hill City, South Dakota on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
Survivors include his mother, Annette 'Nettie' Saylor, Hill City; his wife Laurie Strauss, a daughter, Parker and a son, Cameron, all of Roanoke; his brother, John (Emily) Strauss and their daughter, Lola, Tempe, Ariz; a half-sister, Casey Marie (Kris) Johnson, Phoenix; several aunts and uncles, Jim and Rita Page, Veronica Saylor, Donna Allbee, Karen and Jim Priske and Mary and Bill Stonebreaker, all of Eldora, Iowa and many cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 23, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, at Pine Lake Country Club in Eldora.
Private family burial will take place at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Eldora.
