What do you think?

August 1, 2012
Leodean Peters, Montour , Times-Republican

James Eagan Holmes, 24, Aurora, Colo., shot 70 people, killing 12 instantly and wounding 58 others to various degrees of life-threatening phases on July 20, 2012.

Each of our rational minds has to wonder ... Why?

Though each of us was not there, we can all logically relate to the horror of such a heinous act by another human.

We cannot place blame on logic. Logic does not fit here.

We also read where Holmes is of great intellect or "smarter" than 99 percent of all of us.

Others in the past like Stalin, Pol Pot, Uni-bomber, Hitler, Oklahoma City bomber and others were not of Holmes' intellect - but - Is there another "side" to intellect?

How can society really measure intellect?

To respond to this with the same kind of activity is folly: One would be no better than Holmes or the same as Holmes.

What would - or could - you do?
