August 7, 2012
Times-Republican

President Barack Obama will make his first stop in Marshalltown as a sitting president Aug. 14.

Details of the campaign stop have not been released, but Obama for America has asked to reserve the Marshall County Courthouse lawn for a "local appreciation event" between 2 and 5 p.m. Tuesday. It will be part of a three-day tour of Iowa next week which also includes Council Bluffs, Boone, Oskaloosa, Waterloo, Dubuque and Davenport.

Obama visited Marshalltown three times leading up to the 2008 Iowa Caucuses.
