Several weeks ago the Times-Republican wrote an article about a town in Russia that was nearly destroyed by a flood. I was trying to raise money to help out my parents in Russia who lost almost everything. People have been very generous with their donations and money. What was collected was sent to them a couple of weeks ago. My parents and I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped us in our time of need and kept us in their prayers.
Here is an update on situation in Krymsk. Power, gas and water lines have been repaired. There are still a lot of things going on. Ruined houses are being taken out, streets being cleaned and people are repairing their homes and trying to get back to normal life. However, the town is still full of grief and despair.
As of Thursday, 150 people who lost their homes have received new apartments. There are 1,700 homes that have been destroyed by the flood, plus some homes are starting to fall apart as they dry up.
Once again thank you for all your help. It is great to realize how many people care to help. Thank you.
