A fatal accident involving two vehicles closed part of Highway 14 this morning, two miles south of Marshalltown.
Susana Ochoa-Zepeda, 31, of Marshalltown, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to County Medical Examiner Dr. David Bethel.
A car driven by Hattie Hugen, 17, of Laurel, apparently crossed the center line and hit the van being driven by Ochoa-Zepeda, according to the Iowa State Patrol report. The van had one passenger, Alberta Aguilera-Tellez, 36, of Marshalltown who was taken to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, in what Kamatchus thought was serious condition. Hugen was airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

This accident, which occurred at 7:45 a.m. Friday morning, claimed the life of the driver of the van and sent the driver of the car and passenger in the van to hospitals.
