Tuesday

Robert Ratliff, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge and a interference with official acts charge. The charges will be kept together. The contempt hearing is set for 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 17. The public defender's office was appointed to handle the cases. Bond was set at $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that any firearms be turned over to the Marshall County Sheriff. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Jason Kutzner, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft/fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $320, due immediately.

Jesse Chapman, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension charge and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due immediately. On the no insurance charge, Chapman showed proof of insurance.

Vincent Martinez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due immediately.

John Jorquez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

John Wallace, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a theft/second degree charge. The court appointed the public defender's office to represent him in this case.

Britney Thompson failed to appear.

Fernando Carrillo, 602 E. Anson St., made an initial appearance on a theft/fifth degree charge that was amended to a theft/third degree charge due to two prior convictions. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Tanner Halverson-Wiese, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of firearms as a felon charge, a carrying weapons charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge, an open container charge and a improper registration plate lamp charge. The court appointed the public defender's office to represent him in these cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 24. Bond will continue as posted.

Benjamin Whitlock, 408 Meadow Lane Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a carrying weapons charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 24. Bond will continue as posted.

Mario Castellanos, 604 W. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 23. Bond will remain as posted.

Thursday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims at 700 E. Boone St., a system malfunction at 2500 S. Center St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1211 W. Main St., 101 Iowa Ave., 134 E. Main St., 803 E. State St., 402 N. 10th Ave., and 715 N. 5th Ave.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims at 2561 Reed Ave., a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 3200 block of South Sixth Street, a dispatched/cancelled en route to 910 E. Olive St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Rd., 902 S. Center St., and 311 Innes Boulevard.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 106 College Dr., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 212 S. 14th Ave., 303 1/2 S. 4th Ave., 800 W. Main St., and 620 W. Boone St.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation due to a malfunction at 1501 W. Church St., and a medical assist with the EMS crew to 22 N. Center St.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a no incident found upon arrival in the 1600 block of East Marion Street, a system malfunction at 1501 W. Church St., an outside rubbish fire at 513 S. 4th St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 704 N. 5th Ave., 1721 Country Club Lane, and 206 Nicholas Dr.
