Arrests

On Sunday, Andrew Slifer, 25, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck for public intoxication/third offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 31, Nikki Hansen, 29, of Union, was arrested in Dike and charged with public intoxication/first offense. She posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 31, David Landis, 31, of New Providence, was arrested in Dike and charged with public intoxication/first offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 31, Casey Moran, 29, of Cedar Falls, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with driving while license was revoked. He was released on promise to appear on this charge. He is being held for the Department of Corrections.

On Aug. 30, Jamie Capazo, 28, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Dike and charged with operating while intoxicated/first offense. Capazo was released on promise to appear.

On Aug. 29, Dawn Catlett, 51, of Reinbeck, was arrested for operating while intoxicated/first offense. She posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 27, Genee Thompson, 25, of Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana. Thompson is being held in lieu of bond.

On Aug. 27, Matthew Wagner, 42, of Dike, was arrested on D-19 west of Dike and charged with driving while license is barred. He was released on promise to appear.

On Aug. 24, Stacilyn Chananie-Hill, 36, of Cedar Falls, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated/first offense. She was released on promise to appear.

On Aug. 23, Ronald Sager, 48, of Morrison, was arrested in Reinbeck and charged with aggravated assault. He was released on promise to appear.

On Aug. 23, Carl Bergmann III, 37, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with contempt of court on a operating while intoxicated/first offense charge. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 23, Jacob Dudley, 22, of Union, was arrested for theft/second degree. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 23, Anthony Gile, 19, of Waterloo, was arrested for theft/second degree. He posted bond and was released.

On Aug. 21, Shaun Gienger, 34, of Marshalltown, was arrested by Marshall County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to be fingerprinted on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He was fingerprinted and released.

On Aug. 21, Kate Tremmel, 25, of Marshalltown, was arrested by Marshall County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with failure to be fingerprinted on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. She was fingerprinted and released.

On Aug. 9, Adam Leacox, 27, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear on a driving while license denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. He posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On Saturday, a semi driven by Trent Busma, 47, of Dumont, was northbound on F Avenue south of 150th Street when it crossed a bridge and came around a curve and struck two cows standing in the middle of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damto the Busma semi was estimated at $1,500.

On Aug. 28, a car driven by Rogette Lizer, 19, of Reinbeck, was northbound on T Avenue south of D-25 when it went out of control on the gravel road, slid into the west ditch and rolled onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damto the Lizer car was estimated at $3,000.

Arrests

On Sunday, Jorge Luis Nunez-Garcia, 114 Crestview Dr., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday, Tanner Jo Halverson-Weese, 604 S. 6th St., and 519 N 3rd St. Apt. #19, was arrested for firearm as a felon, carrying weapons, driving under suspension, plate lamp violation, open container and no insurance.

On Saturday, Benjamin Eugene Whitlock, 408 Melody Lane Apt. #3, was arrested for carrying weapons.

On Aug. 30, Jessica Alexandra Acosta, 519 N. 3rd St. Apt. #18, was arrested for failure to wear or maintain safety belts, no insurance and on a warrant for a California parole violation.

On Aug. 28, Tanata Renee Williams, 304 Plaza Heights Rd. Apt. #3, was arrested for driving under suspension/non-payment, no insurance, failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 28, Douglas Edward Cadotte, 305 Melody Lane, and Fort Madison Prison, was arrested for harassment of a peace officer and contempt of court/failure to appear.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a minivan driven by Mastay Shadin Geli, of Des Moines, was headed south/southwest on Highway 330 when it swerved to miss a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway, entered the median and struck a portion of a culvert where it came to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Geli minivan was estimated at $3,500.

On Aug. 30, a minivan driven by Shawn Steven Gardner, of Albion, was eastbound on East Main Street Road on the Iowa River Bridge when a non-contact vehicle crossed the center line causing Gardner to take evasive action and it struck the bridge with the passenger side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gardner minivan was estimated at $2,500.

On Aug. 27, a pickup driven by Gordon Alford Determan, of Haverhill, was southbound on Marsh Avenue at the intersection with Summit Road when a non-contact vehicle pulled away from the stop sign to make a left turn onto Marsh and the Determan pickup swerved to miss it entering the west ditch and striking a utility pole. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Determan pickup was estimated at $1,700 while the utility pole owned by Centurylink Communications, of Seattle, Wash., received an estimated $500 in damage.

Thursday

Erin Robinson, address unknown, made an initial appearance via video on a probation revocation charge. The court continued the previously appointed attorney to handle this case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 19. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Robert Menter AKA Robert Thomas, address unknown, made an initial appearance via video on a extradition request from the State of Nebraska regarding a robbery, Class 2 felony charge. The court appointed the public defender's office to represent him in this case. The extradition hearing is set for 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 3. Bond is set at $500,000 cash or surety.

Jeanette Marie Smith, 1217 Marshall Dr., made an initial appearance on a theft/fifth degree charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Oct. 4 until the debt is completed.

Marshalltown Fire Department

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an alarm system malfunction at 2203 S. 3rd Ave., an outside rubbish fire at 204 S. 4th St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 206 Nicholas Dr., 2317 Knollway Dr., 1201 S. 3rd Ave., 3202 S. 12th St., 206 Nicholas Dr., and 401 N. 14th Ave.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident/general cleanup at 1000 E. Marion St., a good intent call to 1306 S. 1st Ave., a smoke or odor removal at 3012 S. Center St., an oil or other combustible liquid spill on East Marion Street and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 812 N. 5th Ave., 7 N. 17th St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., 312 E. Boone St., and 711 E. Linn St.
