Jorge Luis Nunez Garcia, 114 Crestview Dr., made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana/first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 26. Nunez Garcia was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Dennis Jackley, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a warrant from the State of Nebraska requesting extradition on a parole violation. The waiver hearing will be at 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 14. No bond was allowed in this case.

Rhonda Tomlinson, of Prattville, Ala., made an initial appearance on a contempt of court /unpaid fines charge. The court re-appointed Norma Meade to represent her in this case. The contempt hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $800 cash.

Jesse Albee, of Albion, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 26. Albee was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he be photographed and fingerprinted by Oct. 1 at the Marshall County Sheriff Department. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party. The court further ordered that if Albee possessed any firearms they were to be turned over to the Sheriff's Department.

Jorie Bader, 101 Byron St., made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 17. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party. Bond was $2,000 cash or surety.

Jessie Calvert, of Montour, made an initial appearance on a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. Calvert will hire Barry Kaplan to represent him in this case. An initial hearing is set in Tama County on this charge for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if he possessed any firearms that they be turned over to the sheriff office. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Arrests

On Thursday, Jesse J. Albee, of Albion, was arrested for domestic abuse causing bodily injury.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a semi driven by Carl Eugene Gray, of Collins, was westbound on 230th Street when the driver lost control after dropping off on the north shoulder, crossed the center line into the south ditch, continued in the ditch then came back upon the roadway, entered the south ditch again causing the tractor to jackknife and come to rest partially in the south ditch and on the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gray semi was estimated at $100,000 and damage to the no passing zone sign that the semi struck was estimated at $200.
