STATE CENTER - The state's leading rusher notched another big game and the Class 2A No. 4 West Marshall football team remained unbeaten.

Duncan Ferch rumbled for 243 yards and four touchdowns and the Trojans got ahead and stayed ahead of pass-happy PCM for a 41-21 triumph in Friday's non-district clash.

Ferch moved his season rushing total to 927 yards and scored on runs of 6, 20, 25 and 14 yards. Devin Chesler added 116 yards on just 14 carries and had a pair of first-half touchdown runs as the Trojans (4-0) led 21-7 at the intermission.

PCM quarterback Nate VandeWall tossed three TD passes for the visiting Mustangs (1-3), who had their 2011 campaign ended in the 2A state quarterfinals by West Marshall. VandeWall connected with Ethan Kain on scoring strikes of 60 and 3 yards, and he hooked up with Dillon Bruxvoordt for a 4-yard TD pass to end the scoring.

West Marshall's defense was anchored by Bailey Brockman, who had a fumble recovery as well as two quarterback sacks and tackle for loss among his team-high seven stops. Marcus Webber and Chesler also recovered fumbles for the Trojans, who host Nevada (2-2, 1-0) for next Friday's Homecoming game.
