The huge local anti-bullying effort known at Not In Our Town continues Thursday night with a special movie and panel discussion at the Orpheum Theater.
The Orpheum will show the documentary "Finding Kind" at 7 p.m. with free admission with a ticket from the theater.
The film follows two girls who travel across the country and interview hundreds of females about their experiences with bullying, while also searching for acts of kindness.

Free tickets are available for the screening of the documentary film “Finding Kind,” which is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Orpheum Theater. It is part of the Not In Our Town anti-bullying campaign.
"We felt it was really important to address the issue of girls who bully," said Orpheum Director Pip Gordon. "This is our way to bring attention to the issue."
A panel discussion will follow the film and will be moderated by Gordon. The panel will feature Mid-Iowa Community Action Director Arlene McAtee, Youth and Shelter Services Director David Hicks, Lenihan Intermediate School Counselor Elaine Johnson, Dottie Thompson of Domestic Violence Alternatives/Sexual Assault Center and Andy Lawler of the AEA 267 office.
"For us, in particular, families that we work with often times are the victims of bullying," McAtee said. "Our idea is to strengthen families and communities."

Johnson said the anti-bullying efforts should be continued in the future in the schools and the community.
"I am proud that Marshalltown as a community is taking a stand against bullying," Johnson said.
