Garwin firefighters found the body of John Edward Roberts, 53, inside 519 Maple St. after they extinguished a fire at that home at about 5 a.m..
An autopsy was being performed on Wednesday morning.
The Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office was on scene, but a spokesperson for the department said it has yet to determine the fire's cause, and the State Medical Examiner has yet to provide the Fire Marshal's office with autopsy results showing a cause of death.
