America’s choice in 2012

September 15, 2012

I know how busy our lives are and how hard it is to comprehend what is going on in the world of politics. With all the TV ads we are being bombarded with this year it is hard to tell fact from fiction. Here are some facts.

The American Jobs Act was introduced to Congress by President Obama on Sept. 8 2011, which was fully paid for by a surtax on annual income above $1 million. It was blocked by the GOP Congress. Here is what the AJA would have done:

When our country was in free fall and President Obama was trying to do everything he could to right the ship, the day of President Obama's inauguration in 2009, there were Republicans, a mix of congressmen and senators including VP pick Paul Ryan, with three others added to diversify the gathering of white men. Along with pollster Frank Luntz, right-wing journalist Fred Barnes, and former speaker Newt Gingrich, they held a secret meeting to decide the best way to destroy President Obama so he would not be re-elected.

Their plan was to not work with him and to obstruct everything he proposed. At the end of the night, Gingrich proclaimed, "You will remember this day. You'll remember this as the day the seeds of 2012 were sown." This is well documented in Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do."

Share this information and think about it before you cast your absentee ballot or go into the voting booth.
