Appreciates generosity of the community

September 18, 2012

I continue to be amazed by the kindness, generosity and support of this community. Most recently Marshalltown was treated to an Iowa-Iowa State barbecue during the Main Street Farmers' Market. The proceeds of this barbecue came to Iowa River Hospice thanks to Bill Hobson with the farmers' market and some of our "master" barbecue chefs. Lew Miller represented the Iowa Hawkeyes and Bruce "Bubba" Campbell headed the Iowa State Cyclone team. Denny Grabenbauer and KDAO radio provided great promotion of the event and entertainment. It was fun for all and very tasty. The chicken legs on both sides were delicious; however I personally tend to favor the red and gold. Again, all at Iowa River Hospice are so appreciative for this event, the community and to all who support us and our cause.
