Wednesday

Mitchell Ruiz, 407 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 8. Ruiz was released on his own recognizance.

Robin Bader, 101 Byron St., made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Jacaria Echols, 405 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a assault on a peace officer charge, an interference with official acts charge and a harassment of a public official charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 28. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that Echols be photographed and fingerprinted by no later than 1 p.m. on Sept. 21.

Corey Alman, 407 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 16 in Magistrate Court. Alman was released on his own recognizance.

Antonio Ibarra Meza, 303 Sharon Ave., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The contempt hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if Ibarra Meza possessed any firearms that he make arrangements with the Marshall County Sheriff within 24 hours to turn them over. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Alex Treft, of Liscomb, made an initial appearance on a warrant from district court for failure to appear for arraignment. The public defender's office which was previously appointed will continue with this case. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 26. Bond is set at $7,500 cash only bond.

Carl Clure, 109 S. 1st St., made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief, fifth-degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately plus victim restitution if applicable. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Oct. 15 until the debt is completed.

Jimmy Lubari, of Gladbrook, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately. Brad Johnson, 214 S. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a failure to yield to emergency vehicle charge. He showed the court proof of insurance and that charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed, to be paid within 30 days. On the failure to yield to emergency vehicle charge he pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 16. Bond will continue as posted.

Danny Doty, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Francisco Barajas, of Tama, made an initial appearance with counsel, Allan Richards, on an arrest warrant for failure to appear on a contempt hearing. The contempt hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 18. Bond will continue as posted.

Lateisha Manning Spates, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance on a criminal trespass charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference was set in Magistrate Court for 9 a.m. on Oct. 16. She will represent herself in this matter. Bond will continue as posted.

Marshalltown Police Department

Incidents

On Monday, an employee with JT Construction, 717 N. 4th Ave., reported the theft of a 1998 MAC-Lander flatbed trailer from the shop parking lot. Estimated value of loss was $3,600.

On Tuesday, Kyle Scott Bolton, 907 Turner St., reported the theft of an XBox 360 game system and five XBox games from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $450.

Citations

On Sept. 11, Brenda Yanira Gomez, 303 S. 5th St., was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, marijuana.

Arrests

On Monday, Erica Lynn Velez, 204 N. 7th Ave., was arrested for interference with official acts.

On Sunday,Richard Edward Deubel Jr., 412 Player St., was arrested for serious domestic assault.

On Sunday, Robin Ann Bader-Lathrop, 101 Byron St., was arrested for dog at large.

On Sunday, Armando Lopez, 703 S. 12th Ave. Apt. #1, was arrested for driving while revoked.

On Tuesday, Carl L. Clure, 308 S. 5th St., was arrested for criminal mischief.

On Tuesday, Jacaria Tae Echols, 405 W. Church St., was arrested for aggravated interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer and harassment of a public official.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1001 W. Iowa Ave., 915 W. Merle Hibbs Boulevard, and 207 W. Nevada St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to unauthorized burning at 9 S. 7th Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to Highway 30, and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Rd., 1507 E. Nevada St., and 207 W. Nevada St.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1604 Westwood Dr., 407 W. Church St., and 513 Bromley St.

Sept. 13

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a false alarm at 212 W. Ingledue St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Rd., 1301 Summit St., 206 Nicholas Dr., 103 Santa Barbara Dr., and 207 W. Nevada St.
