John Perkins, 79, of Cresco, died on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at his home surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be in Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Carpenter. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, with a Parish Scripture Service to follow, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 N. Elm St., Cresco. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Ludmilla, of Cresco; his daughters: Cynthia Corbin, of Black River Falls, Wis., Marcia (Jim) Sewick, of Waukon, Lori Perkins, of Independence, Renae (Randy) McIntosh, of Decorah; stepdaughters, Charlotte (Stan) Upah, of Toledo, Denise (Rick) Mills, of Kansas City, Kan., Amy (Kevin) Brandt, of Sumner; stepson, Doug (Trish) Stadler, of Chelsea, 24 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his sister Helen Funk, of Austin, Minn.
