Friday

James Coughenour, address unknown, made an initial appearance on 12 counts of a unauthorized use of a credit card charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 1. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Alex Anaya, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing on the serious domestic assault charge was set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 11. Bond on that is $5,000 cash or surety. The contempt hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 5. The bond on that is $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if Anaya possessed any firearms that he make arrangements to turn them over to the Marshall County Sheriff Office or Marshalltown Police Department.

Andrew Perry, 2205 1/2 S. Center St., made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a probation revocation hearing charge. The probation revocation hearing was rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 5. Bond is set at $300 cash only.

Clinton Sanford, 613 W. Linn St., made an initial appearance on a extradition request from the State of Pennsylvania on pending robbery and assault charges. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The extradition hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court as their docket permits. No bond was allowed in this case.

Magistrate Court

Doug Ainley, 1108 W. Iowa Ave. #14, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Gerald Vannoller, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #26, made an initial appearance on a aggravated assault charge and a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 11. Vannoller was released on his own recognizance. No-contact orders were issued for the protected parties. The court ordered that if Vannoller possessed any firearms that he make arrangements to turn them over to the Marshall County Sheriff Office or the Marshalltown Police Department.

Incidents

On Thursday, an employee with Clemons Chevrolet, 2909 S. Center St., reported the theft of a tailgate from a 2005 F150 pickup from the parking lot. Estimated value of loss was $500.

On Thursday, an employee with JC's Tree Service, of Des Moines, reported the theft of a Viring grapple fork from the corner of 13th Street and Summit Street. Estimated value of loss was $4,000.

On Thursday, Justin Lee Davis, 2306 Yates Ave., was cited for driving while barred.

On Thursday, Richard Eugene Casali, 204 W. Nevada St., was arrested for dog at large.

On Thursday, Alex Anaya, address unknown, was arrested for serious domestic assault, enhanced and contempt of court for violation of a no-contact order.

On Thursday, Vorshayn Dee Ware, 1008 1/2 Lincolnway, was arrested for driving while barred, habitual offenser.

Accidents

On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Catherine Sue Conkin, of State Center, was northbound in the 2700 block of South Center Street when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Conkin vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Wayne St. John Gray, of Winter Springs, Fla., was southbound on Third Avenue in the inside lane when it attempted to turn right onto East Main Street and collided with a car driven by Larry Dean Stabenow, of Liscomb, which was traveling south in the outside lane. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

On Monday, a minivan driven by Joseph Scott Danner, 1111 W. Church St., was eastbound in the 800 block of West Boone Street when it collided with the rear of a legally parked pickup. No injuries were reported. Danner was cited for no insurance and striking unattended vehicle. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $4,000 each.

Thursday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an alarm activation, no fire at 303 Nicholas Dr., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 102 W. Main St., 1407 W. Church St., 5 E. Anson St., 2204 Dubois Circle, 202 N 2nd Ave., and 1501 W. Church St.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication rescue at 2206 S. 3rd Ave., a good intent call at 3120 S. 2nd St., and seven medial assists with the EMS crew to: 910 E. Olive St., 706 E. Anson St., 304 Nicholas Dr., 501 E. Main St., 1315 W. Main St., 122 W. Main St., and 1212 W. Anson St.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two extrication of victims at 3400 S. Center St., and 3000 E. Highway 30, an alarm system malfunction at 1301 Summit St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 105 S. 5th St., 2802 S. Center St., and 411 W. Church St.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 506 E. Anson St., 306 Bromley St., 707 1/2 N. 4th Ave., 9 N. 4th Ave., 202 N. 2nd Ave., and 2302 Edgebrook Dr.
